I created this piece after learning that a college friend that I'd lost track of had died in a plane crash. ***** One of those guys that had absolutely everything going for him- well liked, friendly, smart, successful, good looking, star athlete- everything. Indeed my polar opposite but we found a connection. The plane he was in crashed on take-off taking 17 lives. There were no survivors. He was 27 years old. I only found out years later but it still shook me. ***** He had a little Chevy van when we were in school with a painting on the back door of a fellow with arms out stretched gazing at the universe like it was all his. I later found out that it was inspired by the work of Peter Max a well know painter of the culture of the 60s and 70s. Peter Max died last Monday, 14Sep26... ***** My take away? Tomorrow is never promised. Don't squander the here and now... R.I.P. ***** Thank you for looking! NFS
